This one-hour special, airing on Saturday, December 16, 2023, takes viewers on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the ship’s journey from its initial steel cutting in 2019 to welcoming its first guests in late 2022. The documentary provides an in-depth look at the intricate process of building the MSC World Europa, a 22-deck, 215,900 GT cruise ship powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). It highlights the efforts of the dedicated teams of designers, project managers, and shipbuilders who worked tirelessly to meet the demanding schedule and bring this innovative ship prototype to life. The audience will witness the cutting-edge construction techniques employed to assemble the ship from over 42,000 tonnes of steel.
