Carnival Cruise Line includes a selection of complimentary drinks with your cruise fare. You’ll get free iced tea, lemonade, non-bottled water, hot chocolate, regular coffee, and a variety of teas available at the buffet and drink stations. At breakfast, fruit juices like orange and apple are also free. For soft drinks, bottled water, specialty coffees, and alcoholic beverages, you can pay as you go or add a CHEERS! or Bottomless Bubbles drinks package.
A Carnival Cruise includes your accommodation, main dining, casual eateries, entertainment, live shows, comedy, kids’ clubs, pools, fitness facilities, and most onboard activities. You'll only pay extra for speciality dining, drinks, shore excursions, Wi-Fi, and spa treatments – making it a great-value holiday at sea.
Carnival’s dress code is relaxed and holiday-friendly. Casual wear is fine throughout the day, and while evenings in the main dining room are ‘Cruise Casual’, a couple of ‘Elegant Nights’ invite you to dress up if you fancy. No tux needed - unless you want to!
Onboard all Carnival Cruise Line ships, US dollars (USD) are the official currency. However, you won’t need to carry cash – all purchases are made using your Sail & Sign card, which links to your onboard account. You can set this up with a credit card or preload cash at guest services. Your final bill is settled in USD at the end of your cruise.
Gratuities are not included in the base fare of a Carnival Cruise unless part of a special offer. A daily service charge is automatically added to your onboard account – currently $16.00 USD per person, per day for standard cabins and $18.00 USD for suite guests. This covers your housekeeping and dining team.
You can choose to pre-pay gratuities in GBP at the time of booking, which many UK guests prefer for budgeting ease. If you haven’t pre-paid, the charges will appear on your onboard account.
Can gratuities be removed?
Yes, gratuities can be adjusted or removed by visiting Guest Services while onboard. However, Carnival encourages guests to keep them in place as they go directly to the hardworking crew who provide your daily service. Any changes should be made thoughtfully and based on your onboard experience.
