So, it’s great news that Jet2.com and Jet2holidays have announced that they are launching a 12th base to fly from Bournemouth airport in summer 2025! Jet2’s move comes in response to high demand from customers and travel agents in the region, covering areas like Southampton and Portsmouth.
The expansion will introduce 16 new routes, with destinations including popular spots like Tenerife, Alicante, Ibiza, and Antalya. Jet2 plans to operate up to 27 weekly flights from Bournemouth in its first summer of operations, utilising two aircraft that will be based at the airport. The first flight is scheduled for 1st April 2025.
Jet2’s CEO, Steve Heapy, highlighted the investment in the region, creating over 100 new jobs and enhancing the overall travel experience for customers. This move is expected to significantly boost passenger numbers at Bournemouth airport, marking a milestone in the region’s air travel accessibility.
We know that customers and independent travel agents have been waiting keenly for us to make this move, so we are absolutely delighted to be announcing today that Bournemouth Airport will become our 12th UK airport.
